Range: the Mediterranian Europe, S Russia, Transcaucasia, West Siberia.

ssp.: russiae (Esper, 1784); range: except for Italy.

A copulating pair; wings closed.

A meadow steppe on the Shipunikha Rivulet right bank terrace 2 km NE of the village Evsino, Iskitim District, Novosibirsk Province, West Siberia, Russia. 21st June 1997. O. Kosterin.
