Melitaea cinxia (Linnaeus, 1758) - Glanville Fritillary.

Range: N Europa, Europe (except for the North), Anterior and Central Asia, the southern Ural and Siberia NE to the Lena Plateau, the southern Russian Far East

ssp: tschujaca Seitz, 1908; range: the ALtai Mts. and Siberia eastwards.

Highland dwarf birch (Betula rotundifolia) tundras on a ledge of the southerm principle slope of the Yuzhno-Chuiskii mountain range between the Chikty and Akbul Rivulets, 2300 m above sea level, the upper Dzhazator River basin, Kosh-Agach District, Altai Republic, West Siberia, Russia. 15th July 1998.
