Larch taiga patches in more humid gorges of arid slopes of the mountain Ondum in the western spurs of Academician Obruchev Mts.
Mountains of Central Asia, such as Mongolia or nearby (and very similar) Tyva Republic within Russia, are mostly arid, but on more humid northern slopes or in gorges patches of coniferous forests of taiga type are found.
In these regions they are represented by larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.)
