Copulating pair of very cryptic butterflies confined to arid landscapes where a grey aspect usually prediominates.

Range: arid and semiarid zones from N Africa, W Europa, Anterior Asia to Lake Baikal.

ssp.: intermedia (Staudinger, 1886); range: E Europe, Ural and West Siberia.

A copulating pair, wings closed.
