Erebia kefersteini Eversmann, 1851.

Two individuals prepared themselves to overnighting. At the daytime these butterflies show no trend of congregation but for the nught they as a rule gather in groups, most frequently on flowers or grass tops.

Range: The mountains of South Siberia (including the Altai within Kazakhstan and China) and Mongolia, from Altai to the East Sayan.

Ssp.: kefersteini Eversmann, 1851., except for SW Altai.

An alpine meadow in the valley of an anonimous rivulet between the Chikty and Akbul Rivulets, 2300 m above sea level, the southern principle slope of the Yuzhno-Chuiskii mountain range, the upper Dzhazator River basin, Kosh-Agach District, Altai Republic, West SIberia, Russia. 11th July 1998.
