Since 1988 I have been taking colour transparences on a 35mm-wide film, first on Orwochrom, then, since 1994, on E6 process films: Ektachrome, Fujichrome, Porst.

I took these pictures in the Novosibirsk and Kemerovo Provinces, Altai Mts., Tuva, the steppen Transbaikalia (Dahuria), Yakutia, Magadan Province, Kamchatka, the Dzhungarian Alatau Mountain Chain (NE Tien Shan) in Kazakhstan, in the Pamiro-Alai Mts. in Tajikistan (Zeravshan and Ghissar Mountain Ranges), in the Krasnodarskii Krai Region and Crimean peninsula. Recently I also added photos of dragonflies and butterflies taken in Germany, France, Korea, Japan and Thailand.

The lists of species of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera), dragonflies (Odonata), and plants, so far photographed by me, with brief geographical indications, are available here.

Since I used to use the Nikon FM2 camera with the Micro-Nikkor and Sigma macroobjectives (55 and 50 mm, respectively), and sometimess a Russian camera Zenit TTL as well, with a macroobjective MS Volna-9 and a 37mm objective Mir-1B. Since 2003 I changed to Nikon FM3a. At the very beginning of 2005 I at last joined the digital revolution as having got an access to Olympus C8080, and felt immediately that all the previous life was a mistake while the future life seems sensless. Nevertheless, I did not give up and proceed to eagerly photograph the same things as earier, although in much greater quantities

I actively took black-and-white pictures of diverse natural objects for more than 22 years and have an immense number of those (about 40 000 negatives on file). Unfortunately, those times I had no possibility to obtain quality colour film, and now I fail to find any application for them, but continue to look for.
