Although the colouration of Parnassius serves usually as rather demonstrative (due to the red "eyes" on a white background), it can be cryptic as well, when a butterfly rests on a stone.
Range: the mountains of Central Asia, W and Central China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, N India.
