Rhipidolestes hiraoi Yamamoto, 1955.

This species, an endemic of the Japanese island of Shikoku, belongs to a large subtropical and tropical genus the representatives of which are confined to tiny brooks and seepages under a deep shadow of a forest canopy. They are extremely stenotopic and almost enable to migrate, as a result, their populations isolated and diverge rapidly, so as distinctly different species may be found virtually on each mountain.

O. Kosterin
