SE Kazakhstan, Taldy-Kurgan Province, Zharkent District, the Southern Dzhungarian Alatau mountain chain (at the junction with the Boro-Horo Mts.), the Tyshkantau massif , the Tyshkan River valley just upstream its leaving the mountains, about 1800 m above sea level, 40 km N of the town of Zharkent, 10 km N of Sarybel' village, 22nd July 1994.
