Nymphalis xanthomelas (Schiffermueller, 1775) - Yellow-legged Tortoiseshell.

Range: The temperate and subtropical Euroasia.

ssp.: xanthomelas (Schiffermueller, 1775); range: except for the Pacific islands.

A colony of caterpillars on a willow branch hanging just above the water.

The Izdrevaya Rivulet valley meadow 1 km of its mouth, surroundings of Novosibirsk, West Siberia, Russia. 22nd June 1996. O. Kosterin Wings closed.
