Range: the temperate Euroasia north to the forest-tundra one, the northern North America


ssp: acidalia Boeber, 1809 (= asiatica Staudinger, 1901); range: the mountains of South Siberia.

An alpine meadow on a cirque bottom at 2500 m above sea level in the Argem (Direntai) Stream headwaters, 15 km W of the village Dzhazatr on the eastern spurs of the Katunskiy Mt. Range, Kosh-Agach District, Central Altai Mts., West Siberia, Russia. 19th July, 1988. Oleg Kosterin.
