Melitaea didyma (Esper, 1779) - Spotted Fritillary.

Range: N Africa, S Europe, Anterior and Central Asia, Kazakhstan, S Ural, the southern West Siberia.

ssp: neera Fischer de Waldheim, 1840 (= uralca Bryk, 1940); range: the Volga River basin, S Ural, the southern West Siberia.

Larva on a leaf of its foodplant Phlomis tuberosa L.
