Range: the Polar Ural, the mountains of North and East Siberia, the Ochot Sea coast, Kamchatka.

ssp.: kamtschadalus Sheljuzhko, 1933; range: Kamchatka.

A male; wings closed.

Subalpine meadows alternating with the dwarf alder (Dushekia fruticosa (Rupr.) Pouzar) thickets on the western slope of the volcano Zheltovskaya Sopka, Elizovo District, S Kamchatka, Russia. 16th August 1991. O. Kosterin.
