Range: the Sierra-Nevada, Pyrenees, Alps, Balkans Mts., Polar Ural, the northern Central Siberia, East Siberia, the mountains of South Siberia and Mongolia, the north and west of North America.

ssp.: diodorus (Bremer, 1861) (= orbitulinus (Staudinger, 1892)); range: the mountains of South Siberia and Mongolia.
