Aricia artaxerxes (Fabricius, 1793) (= Aricia allous (Huebner, 1819); = Aricia astrarche auct.; = Polyommatus allous; = Polyommatus artaxerxes) - Mountain Argus.
Range: N Africa, Europe, Anterior and Central Asia, Ural, Siberia (north to the middle taiga zone), the southern Russian Far East, Mongolia, N and NE China, Korea.
ssp.: strandi Obraztsov, 1935 (= monarchus Higgins, 1982); range: Siberia, Amurland.
A male, wings closed.
A detrituous southern slope of the Dzhazator River right bank 4 km upstream of the Zhumaly River mouth, Kosh-Agach District, Altai Republic, West Siberia, Russia. 20th July 1998. O. Kosterin.
