The Argun' (Haliar) River valley at the mouth of the Budyumkan River. The slopes are covered either with meadow steppes or Dahurian birch (Betula davurica Pall.) groves or Dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii (Rupr.) Rupr.) forests. The mountains behind the Argun', the Tsi Ling Shan Mt. Range, are Chinese and represent the northern extreme of the Great Hingan Mts. The Argun' divides Russia and China.
