Meadows and meadow steppes (resembling American prairies) covering moderate elevations in the steppen and forest-steppen Transbaikalia (Dahuria) exhibit extraordinary abundance and diversity of flowers throughout the summer. There are seen: blue, Adenophora gmelinii (Sprengel) Fischer, pink, Dianthus versicolor Fischer ex Link, deep-blue, Echinops latifolius Tausch., yellow, mostly Bupleurum scorzonerifolium Willd., high grass, Stipa krylovii Roshev.
