A view from the southern principal slope of the Yuzhno-Chuiskii mountain range (green plane) on the Ukok Plateau. A light close plain is a montane tundra with dominance of Kobresia myosuroides (Vill.) Fiori et Paol. (Cyperaceae). On the horrizon seen is the snowy mountain range Tabyn-Bogdo-Ola (up to 4374 m above sea level, the mounain Nairamdal), the orographic centre of the Altai mountains, where meet Russia, Mongolia and China.
