Carterocephalus palaemon (Pallas, 1771) albiguttata Christoph, 1893 (right, wings open) and C. silvicola (Meigen, 1829) (left, wings closed).

Two close species flying together in the Boreal forest zone of Palaearctic (the former also in Nearctic) happened to sit resting together.

A bushy meadow on the second right bank terrace of the Koen River at the mouth of the Volchikha Rivulet, just downstream of the village Nizhnii Koen, Iskitim District, Novosibirsk Province, West Siberia, Russia. 6th June 1993. O. Kosterin.
